Since its 12 character launch in November 2014, Nintendo's amiibo range has grown to feature a wide range characters from a whole host of different franchises (including some non-Nintendo surprises).

These popular figures each include an NFC tag which allows it to store data and unlock digital rewards in some of Nintendo's most popular games such as Mario Kart 8 DX, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

The rarity of some of these amiibo has had a massive influence on the prices they are now available for on online retailers and auction sites; and new additions for popular games often sell out on their initial release during preorder. With over 39 million figurines sold, and another 30 million cards sold Nintendo's amiibo range will continue to see success, and new additions, for some time to come.
